latively light work today, it's a marathon not a sprint!
I know I said I was going to jump into the battle stuff but, I want to continue some other systems first.
While working on the pets screen I noticed that there was too much text on the screen and the gameboy with it's quirks will overwrite text if too much is displayed at once so that got me thinking I have some extra space at the bottom so why not create some custom buttons and graphics!

The first button needs to say STAT to take us to the detailed stat screen, the buttons have an animation as well which make it look like they are being pressed. The place holder border is also due for a complete revamp soon. The bottom part with the buttons will have a border and on the left side I will put the currently hovered pet's avatar!
Now for the next work done for today was items!
So far I have an item database of 8 items. The nice part as well is that I was able to add a scrolling feature to the item screen as well! So when you have more than 6 different items and the cursor hits the bottom we scroll to the next item in the list like so!

I also implemented the scroll going up as well, and it is working perfectly!
Tomorrow the plan is the start work on the new borders, and to change the word to stat on the other button. I want to add item descriptions in the bottom of the item page to take up that blank space and I may be able to put a test/placeholder pet sprite on the bottom of the pet screen.
One last decision is whether to have one menu that we cycle left and right to each screen (from pet screen press right to enter item screen, press right to enter save menu...etc) or to have the classic press start on gameworld to bring up a submenu to then select the appropriate menu from there.
